Why do we cook? As a chef the obvious answer is to bring true pleasure to the table, but these past few days I’ve come to realize the importance of what we do. We cook to bring together family and friends, to share a special occasion, or to simply spend time with one another. When cooking for your family, take your time…move slowly with careful attention. This will not only bring you great satisfaction, but will allow more time spent with the people you care about. I am fortunate to be surrounded by people who care about me at work and home. Take care of your parents and those who love you.

You are so right on this one Jay! We are all so rushed these days with our own personal lives that we seem to forget and spend time with our families. I am guilty of this myself, I always say I will another day…Soon! And that day never seems to come, it keeps getting pushed back to “another day” You and your family have been in my prayers this week. I know things are tough right now, but remember you must go forward, make wonderful memories with your family and praise God everyday for giving the talent of cooking. You not only cook awesome food, but you have families come to your restaurant and spend time together, so you are helping them create wonderful memories. God Bless you! ~ Janice
