Norm Rush has been in the wine/restaurant industry for over 25 years having a wealth of knowledge and experience in both areas. He owns a wine brokerage firm in Mississippi representing the finest wines worldwide with his main focus being on education in the wine industry (ie: wine tastings, staff-trainings, seminars and certifications). He is a guild-certified Sommelier with two associations and is also certified through the Society of Wine Educators as a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW). He has traveled extensively through every major wine growing region in the world and continues his studies in the growing and ever changing world of wine.

As a chef the obvious answer is to bring true pleasure to the table, but these past few days I’ve come to realize the importance of what we do. We cook to bring together family and friends, to share a special occasion, or to simply spend time with one another. When cooking for your family, take your time…move slowly with careful attention. This will not only bring you great satisfaction, but will allow more time spent with the people you care about. I am fortunate to be surrounded by people who care about me at work and home. Take care of your parents and those who love you.

You’ve raved about our fritters since we started selling them. Recently we decided to partner with the Vicksburg Haven House Family Shelter. We will be selling our famous Fritters down at Riverfest this weekend, all to benefit the Haven House. So come down, get your fritters, and hang out and enjoy Riverfest with us this weekend. We’ll have our cooking station set up at 1301 in front of the Trustmark, so come by and visit, and enjoy some of our Famous Fritters.

A culinary showdown featuring two fabulous Vicksburg chefs, Jay Parmegiani of Roca and John Kellogg of Cedar Grove Mansion. This one-of-a-kind cooking event will feature a “mystery ingredient” with each chef preparing a signature dish onsite. Come enjoy hors d’oeuvres, entertainment, a silent auction, and a visit with the panel of local celebrity judges all while supporting a very worthy cause.
